CRM for Nonprofits?

This year I accepted a request to join the 2008 One Call for All Board of Directors and to chair the Technical Committee. The first order of business was to select a new system to manage all of the organization's activities and data. I like Open Source solutions so I started there first.

MS SQL Sever 2005 v. Oracle 10g

I've been an Oracle database guy for over 10 years and while I've found plenty to complain about, on the whole, it has usually turned out to be the best tool for the job. However, I've finally taken the plunge into the world of Microsoft SQL Server.

Workday in the news

I spotted an interesting article in the ZDNET SaaS blog by Phil Wainewright about a company called Workday. They are coming into the spotlight with an SaaS alternative for the traditional, on premise, financial ERP solution. Workday hopes to succeed in the same way Salesforce.com did by providing an alternative to these big, expensive and complex applications.
